Professor Partovi qualified in Pahlavi University Medical School, Shiraz, Iran and had his training and postgraduate education in England. He was Registrar to the late Dr William Sargent and Senior Registrar at St Thomas’ Hospital. Professor of Psychiatry at the National University of Iran between 1973 and 1993 his subspecialty is in Rehabilitation Psychiatry and was Consultant in charge of Nethern Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services (a national demonstration centre for psychiatric rehabilitation). Professor Partovi is currently Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist responsible for the Reading North Locality at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Trust. Professor Partovi has a specialist interest in Mood and Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Bipolar Affective Disorder and psychotic illnesses including Schizophrenia, Drug and Alcohol Abuse, Forensic and Medico Legal Work.
